Life is, essentially, meaningless. There is no inherent meaning to anything. It is up to us, therefore, to decide what life means.

Unfortunately, people often assign the worst possible meaning to something. Take the example of a man who applies for a job and is rejected. He may well tell himself that what that means is that he is ‘clueless’ or ‘incompetent’ or simply ‘not good enough’. When all that actually happened was that he didn’t get a job. It was he who added on all the meaning, no one else.

If your life is ‘rubbish’ or ‘boring’, it is not because life is ‘rubbish’ or ‘boring’. It is simply because you choose to see it that way. So, to change your life, change the way you look at life. It is the only way.
