The more you focus on your age, the more you age.

People are obsessed by age. They divide people into all these different categories: babies, children, adolescents, young adults, middle aged, old aged. All of which is nonsense. The simple fact is that at any age you can feel young or you can feel old. You can feel strong or you can feel weak. You can feel able or you can feel unable. This has nothing to do with age and everything to do with your attitude to life. At every moment, ‘young’ or ‘old’, you can expand yourself or you can shrink from life.

Everything equals itself in the end, anyway: at the very end of your life you are exactly the same as at the very beginning of your life – completely helpless and reliant on others. So forget about the numbers on your birth certificate and focus on this particular moment, because that is all that you have control over.

And, in focusing all your energy on the right here, right now, you may just age better. After all, ‘old’ people worry a lot. But, in the right here, right now, what is there to worry about?
